Project Management

Wimbledon | Open Plan Full House Refurbishment and Extension

Client Introduction and Vision: Our journey began when a client stumbled upon our showroom and was captivated by a display piece, inspiring the signature colour of her envisioned bespoke in-frame kitchen. Joining the project post-planning permission, the client sought an unconventional yet luxurious open kitchen-dining space, steering away from typical design norms. This served as just one aspect of a comprehensive consultation covering five zones within the home, including a loft bathroom, first floor en-suites, master bathroom with walk in wardrobes, ground floor hallway, cloakroom design and flooring solutions.

Challenges and Nuanced Solutions: The project faced several challenges, notably budget adjustments post-tendering rounds, requiring a delicate balance between design integrity and cost management. Collaborating closely with suppliers and prioritising non-negotiable design aspects, we found a harmonious solution that satisfied both the design vision and the client's financial constraints. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic necessitated extensive client support due to supply chain disruptions, requiring constant reassurance and adaptive problem-solving.

Overcoming Unique Design Hurdles: Navigating unexpected on-site challenges, such as misplaced beams and altered ceiling heights, demanded innovative solutions. Working hand-in-hand with our design team, we devised strategies to resolve these issues without compromising the project's vision. The installation phase brought further complexities, especially in handling a sizeable quartzite piece and addressing floor level discrepancies. Through meticulous coordination between designers and installers, we overcame these hurdles.

Client Satisfaction and Project Culmination: Despite initial frustrations arising from manufacturing errors and oversights, transparent communication and prompt solutions ensured a successful project completion. The final result exceeded the client's expectations, fulfilling her long-held dream for the space. The exceptional standard achieved post-completion even led to the client permitting us to feature the project on the front cover of KBB, recognising the dedication and transformative impact of our collaboration.

East Molesey | Open Plan Kitchen, Living, Dining and Hallway

Client Connection and Insightful Home Visit:  Our journey began when a family, excited by the aesthetic of the Day True showroom in Wimbledon, sought to create a similar aesthetic in their East Molesey home. Understanding their needs as new parents, we arranged a home visit, uncovering both spatial challenges and personal preferences. Recognising the kitchen's placement as a hindrance to space optimisation, I swiftly reimagined the layout while discovering their passion for integrating art, specifically a Picasso piece, into the design.

Collaboration and Solution-Oriented Approach:  Working closely with our design team, we tailored the design and specifications to align with the client's vision. To offer greater cost clarity, I introduced them to my network of installers, fostering trust and confidence in the process. As the 2019 pandemic unfolded, our collaborative resilience with the contractor ensured we navigated supply chain disruptions, exemplifying our commitment to overcoming challenges together.

Successful Outcome and Personalised Space: Despite pandemic-related setbacks, our joint efforts resulted in a stunning open plan kitchen living dining space. The design not only met their functional needs but also incorporated their artistic aspirations, reflecting their unique style. This project exemplifies the dedication to understanding client desires, adaptive problem-solving, and delivering spaces that transcend expectations.

Conclusion: The transformation of this space stands as a testament to a commitment to personalised design, collaborative resilience, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities for creating exceptional living environments

Residential Interior Design

In my journey through residential furniture and bathroom design, my evolution from the entry sector of the market was instrumental in shaping my expertise. Beginning with tight budgets and fixed-sized cabinetry, I honed the art of maximising design within constraints, learning to innovate and optimise space efficiently. Collaborating closely with skilled installers, I gained invaluable insights into seamless implementation.

Transitioning to a different phase in my professional journey marked a shift towards bespoke and luxury design as I ventured into new horizons as I moved between companies. This transition allowed me to delve deeper into creating tailor-made, luxurious experiences, combining my foundational knowledge with a newfound appreciation for intricacy and exclusivity in design.

In every facet of my design career, spatial planning has been the cornerstone of my approach. I firmly believe that the beauty of a design can only flourish when harmoniously integrated into its spatial context and existing architecture. Throughout my journey, I've upheld this principle, recognizing that a stunning design remains incomplete if not positioned thoughtfully within a space.

My early career focused on modular design, navigating the realms of flat-packed and fixed cabinetry alongside esteemed European and British manufacturers. It was here that I discovered the art of manipulating furniture to craft bespoke designs, pushing the boundaries of fixed cabinetry to create unique and personalised spaces.
